upperplace — Type Beat Publisher

A private tool that publishes one music producer's own instrumentals to that producer's own YouTube channel.

What this application does

upperplace is an independent music producer who writes and records instrumental beats. This application automates the publishing of those instrumentals to the producer's own YouTube channel, upperplace.

For each track the application:

• renders a 1080p video from the producer's own audio and cover artwork;
• writes the title, description, tags and chapter markers;
• uploads the video to the producer's own channel as a private, scheduled release;
• sets the custom thumbnail and adds the video to the correct playlist;
• reads back that channel's own public statistics to measure how each release performed.

Who uses it

One person: the owner of the channel. There is no sign-up, no other user, and no public interface. The application is not offered to anyone else and does not act on behalf of any third party.

Which Google data it uses, and why

• youtube.upload — to upload the producer's own videos to the producer's own channel.
• youtube — to set thumbnails, manage the channel's own playlists, and schedule releases.
• youtube.readonly and yt-analytics.readonly — to read that same channel's own performance figures so the producer can see which releases worked.

The application only ever touches the single YouTube channel owned by the person who authorises it. It reads no other channel's private data and writes nowhere else.
